Company Bio

Foster's Furnture and Lazar Industries have enjoyed a wonderful relationship, beginning in the early 1980's. It's wonderful to recognize that our two companies have enjoyed doing business with eachother for more than 40 years.

At the time, the company's founder Barry Lazar was a sales representative traveling and selling to various accounts he'd established a rapport with through the years. He recognized a need and an opportunity for offering his customers unique dining chairs and accent chairs. Foster's enjoyed carrying some of those original designs, and the relationship between our two companies has been successful ever since. At the time, Barry named the company Chair Design and located the factory in South Central Los Angeles.

From those humble and hard working beginnings, conjoined with the continued support from countless small family businesses just like Foster's Furniture, Chair Design grew in popularity and demand. Soon after, the company began making sofas and sectionals to compliment their popular priced chairs. By the late 1980's the company changed its name to Lazar Industries and opened a second factory in North Carolina to accommodate a growing East Coast consumer base.

Through the years, Lazar has earned it's way to becoming an established industry leader in contemporary and transitional upholstery furniture. Barry Lazar passed away in early 2014, leaving behind a legacy of design and ingenuity he contributed to the furniture industry. Today, Lazar produces all of its products in Siler City, North Carolina. It's currently Managed by two genglemen with extensive experience in the industry, with Ronnie Murphy as CEO, and Tom Powell as President. Utilizing the skills of the talented men and women in the community, Lazar is proud to be a firmly rooted company in North Carolina. The company holds true to the principles established by its founder - great design, great value, and made in the USA.

Lazar Spiral Swivel Chair Right

Lazar Ava Sofa

The 82" Ava Sofa by Lazar. A perfect size for a small living room setting or condo living. A beautiful and extremely comfortable mid-century modern design. The Ava features a tufted seat cushion and back cushions. Four solid wood legs slightly flare out for a soft appearance. There are several finishes for the wood legs, and many fabric choices. Lazar Alba Loveseat

The Alba Loveseat by Lazar. 69" wide. A clean symmetrical design, and very comfortable to pass the time in. Available in a wide variety of materials, making it easy and enjoyable to perfectly correlate to your room. The frame sits atop beautiful polished steel legs. Please see below for more details.

Lazar Scarlet 60" Loveseat

The Scarlet Loveseat by Lazar is a comfortable and chic modern design. Note, the three accent pillows are not included with the loveseat. The look of the Scarlet is made unique by the added narrow outside arm detail, and the dramatic channel back. The frame rests upon polished steel legs mounted at 45 degree angles to the corners, and a wood leg option is also available. Lazar Celebrity Loveseat 72"

The Celebrity 72" Loveseat by Lazar. A unique channeled track arm design. The group features a Sofa, Loveseat, and Chair. The Celebrity is a beautiful contemporary design, and is very comfortable to relax in. Sofa and Loveseat come standard with with two accent arm pillows. Please see below for more details. Lazar Arabella Sectional Left Side Bumper

The Arabella Sectional by Lazar, with a beautiful open bumper end on the left side. The generous curves and mid height back are exceptionally comfortable for lounging and conversation. Although we show the Arabella as a three piece sectional with two accent pillows, other configurations are available.
